Senior HR Generalist

The Senior Human Resource Generalist administers policies relating to all phases of human resources activity in accordance with the organizations procedures and applicable laws. The position is responsible for assisting and advising company managers about employee and HR related issues. This position requires a high degree of organization and attention to detail.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Delivers HR leadership and strategic guidance on HR operations for the company.
  • Assists in meeting talent acquisition metrics including time to fill, interview per hire ratio, and building a candidate pipeline.
  • Crafts proper job descriptions, titles, and update company organization chart as needed.
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Coordinate the employee review and evaluation process with supervisors. Plan for employee’s performance review; develop tools for review, job evaluation and development.
  • Enter, update, and maintain all employee files including personnel, medical, safety, and training records.
  • Administration of employee benefits: prepare packet for medical and dental insurance and 401k, enroll employee with carrier and update deductions upon eligibility, notify carrier of all changes, and maintain Cobra records for previous employees.
  • Prepare and maintain employee files, assuring accuracy, compliance and confidentially. i.e : unemployment claims, verifications, I9 status and State regulations.
  • Back up and audit weekly payroll.
  • Uses payroll software to maintain/create general ledgers, time off accruals and custom reports.
  • Process L&I claims and work with retro representative.
  • Own internal communication and serve as the hub for company-wide communication and dissemination of information.
  • Familiarizes oneself with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organizational requirement for quality management, health and safety, legal requirement, environmental policies and general duty of care.
  • Adheres to all workplace safety guidelines, policies, and laws determined by the company, state, and federal authorities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Comfortable in the manufacturing work environment and able to interact with employees at all levels.

Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, business administration and/or a minimum of four years HR related experience required
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations required
  • Understanding of pre vs post tax deductions, garnishments, workers’ comp, standard payroll reports (payroll register, summary sheet, ect.) required
  • Two (2) to four(4) years in benefits or related benefits administration
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications required
  • Experience with MRP systems preferred
  • IOI Payroll experience preferred
  • PHR certification preferred
  • Bilingual, English and Spanish preferred
